“We are a family of four who love to travel, but if you asked what our favourite destination is, we’d probably all have a very different answer!”

So what is our favourite destination? Well, Monkey (our daughter) hates long haul flights so her favourite holiday would be Port Douglas as it’s a short flight from where we live and we spent most of the time swimming in the pool!
Booga (our son) loves rollercoasters, so his favourite destination would be Orlando , where we spent a total of 8 full days at theme parks!
Husband loves to ski so no doubt his pick would be the snow.
However because we joke that I’m the Captain. I’m going to say our favourite family-friendly holiday was with Disney Cruise Line.
[Operated by the Walt Disney Company, Disney Cruise Line includes a fleet of four ships; the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy.]

Chantel’s on board accommodation tip:
I would recommend not bothering with a more expensive port hole, ocean view or balcony room on the ship. There are so many amazing things to do on board we literally only used our room to sleep and shower. Coming from Australia we had already spent a fortune for our 7-night West Caribbean Disney Cruise so we picked the cheapest room possible…and it was awesome!
The less expensive rooms come with a “magical port hole”. We couldn’t afford the luxury of an ocean view porthole however the magic portholes give a ‘real time’ view of what would be outside our window but with Disney magic!
It was a real novelty waiting to see which Disney character might pop up next on the screen! Plus the starry nights were better than the real deal!
Chantel’s top three!
1. Booking your little princess into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a makeover. The sweetest experience ever!

2. Ride the Aqua Duck water slide at night! It’s lit up like a disco!

3. If you visit Jamaica, climb Dunns River Falls!
It took just under an hour to climb to the top of the cascading falls. We made a human chain and were guided by the sweetest Jamaican man to the top! Challenging yes, however one of the best things I’ve ever experienced!

Oh Mickey you’re so fine!
It’s not on the menu but if you ring room service and ask for a Mickey shaped ice cream they will bring it to your room, day or night for free!
Enjoy the trip well before it starts!
Another great tip is to find your cruise on Facebook. It’s terrific to count down with your fellow passengers and bounce tips and advice off each other.
